    Steve Thompson is retiring from rugby - at 28 years old - due to a neck injury picked up playing Biarritz.

    From another front rower who hasn't played since Novemeber due to a neck injury, sorry to see this. A very good player at his peak.

    I presume there are insurance contingencies for these kind of things. There's also a good charitable trust foundation set up by the RFU afaik.
