RTE have the new season of 24 and have scheduled it at around 00:10

Depending on other shows and bank holidays.

    Single episodes each week.

    Oh! it's getting much worse.

and they wonder then why so many people have sky or just download the episodes. what a crazy time on a work night to show it.

That's a bit mental. Thank christ I've got sky...

    They haven't got a clue.
I can't understand it;when RTE first started showing 24 it was always on at peak viewing time and they always had the new seasons before SKY or BBC (or whoever had the UK screening rights).
Then for no reason (around the time season four came out), they waited until the season was almost finished in the UK before they started to show it and even then put it in a ridiculous time slot. They have continued with this policy ever since.

What the fock??? That is the worst time slot for 24, its an insult to the show.....im sure if they put it on at an earlier time they would get a higher rating, they just shouldnt have botherd paying for it....

    I think's I will make a complaint

Top marks to Rte for this latest brainwave

Although this shouldn't come as any great surprise - they done something similar to 24 last year, AFAIK.

Well maybe "How low can you go" will be better than 24 (not bloody likely)

I like How Low Can You Go, but in saying that RTE could in their wisdom replace How Low Can You Go with 24 as How Low Can Go finishes this week.

Yet rather then do that they will replace How Low Can You Go with a movie that will be interupted by the News On Two.

Not only is it on at a stoopid time, there has been absolultely *no* promotion for it at all. No trailers, no press ads, nuttin'
It's only 'cos my wife goes through the RTE Guide with a magnifying glass :D that I even knew it was on!

I just happened to notice it on the Sky planner on Monday night as I was changing channels. First I thought they were re-running an old series.
When I saw it was Day 6, I wasted about 5 minutes going through the rest of the week to see what day the first showing is on, as I assumed this was a late night repeat.
What a shower of muppets [apologies to any muppets insulted by the comparison].

You should tell the RTÉ scheduling department that.

In the age of PVRs, media centres and even the humble old video recorder, why is the time a program is on such an issue? Just record it and watch it at a time more convenient to you.

I *rarely* watch TV live now. If want to watch a program I record it onto my media centre, and watch it soon after, perhaps even the same day. The primary reason: I can skip though the ads and condense an hour's TV into 40 mins.

This is very true however RTE (as already stated) haven't even suggested to people that they should rec this show on their channel they have not advertised it.

You also have to remember that not everyone has access to the internet and that many people still don't have SKY (UPC have yet to introduce their Sky + service, and RTE NL have yet to even start Digital).

I think RTE should respect this show a little better they have bought the show afterall, to put on at 00:10 is stupid, they could easily put it on early. You have to remember that for RTE its not about who as DVD Recorders, VCRs or SKY + but it about viewers watching a show at a set time.

Can you imagine if RTE started showing LOST at 00:10 just because less and less people are watching "LIVE" TV?
