Over the past year or two, I have become increasingly intolerant of noise. I don't know why. It has got to the stage where if I can hear anything at all at night, from a murmured conversation to a tv, traffic or a dog barking, I can't sleep at all and become very angry.

During the day, if I can hear anything, I get incredibly wound up and can't concentrate on my college work or even read a book. I have taken to wearing ear plugs, but I can't wear them 24/7, plus they irritate my ears.

I often feel so wound up by noise I want to cry or kill everyone. I visited a homeopath who gave me some remedies to try but they're not helping. Sometimes when I'm in bed at night and can't sleep because people are talking outside I feel suicidal.

This is annoying my family as well because I always ask them to be quieter and get angry if they don't keep the noise down. I don't even live in a particularly noisy area!

Other than this problem, I'm not depressed and have a good life. I don't know what to do. I can't face living like this forever.

Hypersensative hearing is a medical condition I suggest that you go talk to your dr about it.
