Accommodation in Croatia

I'm in the process of sorting 10 days in Croatia in August and while flights are handy enough to sort, I'm not sure where to start for accommodation. I've seen a good few sites but I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a specific site for booking accommodation in Dubrovnik/Hvar.

Even better, if anyone can recommend a particular accommodation in either Dubrovnik/Hvar, I'd be grateful.

You'll find that most people turn up and then wait for the flood of grannies to pimp their rooms to them. They'll have photos and maps and all sorts of promises as to why their accomodation is the best. You can head off and check out various accomodation and if you don't like it they'll take you back to the bus station (where the bus from the airport drops you off) and you can try your luck again.

This is an option but if you want something confirmed before you go have a look at www.hostelworld.com

I stayed at the YHA Hostel and it was fine. . .theres plenty of other places aswell. It can get very busy in summertime so it might be an idea to book so you get something well located. Hostelworld also does accomodation for other places in Croatia.

Was a great place to visit when I was there 2 years ago. . .Enjoy!

Cool, cheers for that. I'd be all for trying out the grannies, but I'm led to believe that August is the busiest month, with lots of Italians heading to Croatia, and mostly to Hvar, so it might be safer to book now.
