Alright I'm 18 after getting this bike yesterday. Any idea for cheap insurance? Could I get my dad (Full lisence for a car - No claims bonus of 20years of something/never crashed etc) to get insursed on it, and name me as a 2nd driver? Is that possible? Any suggestions would be great thanks.

P.S Can my dad drive a moped with a full drivers?

    Thanks

Yes if the bike is insured and he has a full car licence ie "B"
Aon Insurance. Carole nashe and Hibernian, Its worth trying around for different quotes.

The design speed of the moped must be less than 45km/h to allow legal usage by a cat B licence holder. However, as your father would likely never ride it, probably not an issue here. best of uck gettin a decent quote but I fear they'll see straight through it OP. Insurance is a sick joke

unfortunately, they are paid to ask questions, and they can be pretty mercilous...
'..and your date of birth sir? Ok, any named drivers? Date of birth, and licencing details of each one please..'
    etc etc

anyway, always better to try and get your own policy, start building your own NCB as soon as possible

Name Drivers.... you might want to ring Carol Nash to check, they will tell you the correct answer.

however im thinking it's going to be 2 seperate policies, also you're dad's car insurance will not make any difference to his bike insurance.

    Hope this helps.
