Daleks, why do some many people like them so?

To be honest I can barely stand the Daleks and was very disappointed that new series kept finding more ways to introduce them:( . They simply go around saying robotic things, have no personality whatsoever and the obsession with them in the series overall has meant that I found many episodes incredibly boring! I realise a lot of people like them a lot but what I want to know is why?
At least when they're not in an episode it's usually more interesting because it's usually a storyline that hasn't been done till the cows come home. They introduce new creatures and problems and keep things interesting.

Not a huge fan either and think it's a bit lazy of RTD to keep shoving them into episodes.

As you say, the daleks lack a personality. That's why the figurehead of Davros worked so well in the first run of the series. He was a twisted hybrid and very distinct. He worked whereas even the concept of an Emperor dalek is lacking because they're less human. The Cyberman are also robotic but that's the point of them - they're humans with all the humanity torn out of them. The daleks are little Kaled bugs in a moving chassis.

I'd be happy to see no more daleks in the show's current incarnation and instead focus on new enemies or re-introducing ones with more depth. Odds are though that as long as they're popular with the public, RTD will keep bringing them back for one last go.

Personally, i love the daleks, they're iconic Doctor Who villians. They are about the only creatures in the universe that can go toe to toe with the doctor and actually cause him a bit of bother. The Cybermen are grand, but they really never pose much of an actual threat.

Anyway, if i remember correctly there's only one Dalek left in the universe, so chances are they'll won't be featuring for the rest of the season after the next two episodes...

What about the Master(okay so he's not a creature but anyway)? He was a bit of challenge for the Doctor alright! However since his world was destroyed who knows what happened to that guy? I actually thought that whole storyline about his planet getting destroyed ruined the show a bit but anyway.

    It's Dr Who, chances are they'll find a way!

I thought the master died before the time war began (in that Tv movie from way back), so i wasn't really including him. That said, i'm willing to put good money on him being back for the end of this season, which should be entertaining.

Ohh i've no doubt they will, just probably not for the rest of this season. After all i don't think the ones from doomsday are actually dead, just stuck in the void, if i remember what happened correctly.

Just because he died, doesn't mean he's dead :) The Master died plenty of times in the original season and even managed to snag himself extra lives.
As to dying in the TV movie, they wormed their way out of that in the novels so they can do it here again.

I'm pretty sure we'll see him this season too: the Doctor's been told he's not alone, so we know there's another Time Lord. In "Smith and Jones" the Doctor mentions that he had a brother - the Master was oft rumoured to be his brother.
We also know there's a Saxon character interefering in earth with apparent knowledge of extra-terrestial life forms. The Master was often involved in Earth.

Well at least these days they have them hovering up and down stairs, before it was ridiculous! Before it was like, they're are rough, they're tough, they're one of the Doctor's main enemies and they can't even past the stairs!:D

<ObligatoryGeekReference>Remembrance of the Daleks - they floated then and were floating in various non-televised adventures before then</ObligatoryGeekReference>
