I don’t know if this is the correct forum for this but I thought that some of ye might know.

I'm thinking of organising a texas hold'em tournament for charity. Already have a venue in mind down the country. I would be looking for a bit of advice about how to go about this. Promotion etc would be fine but I haven’t a clue what else I would need to do. Is there any company who could supply me with equipment etc? What else I would need to think about? Would the likes of Paddy power be keen to sponsor the event? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Contact www.pokerireland.ie www.pokerevents.ie and www.greenjokerpoker.com All can organise games for the likes of yourself.

The sites like PPP very very rarely support these events. Get local buinesses to support you. You players are their target audience. Places such as pubs and pizza delivery places.

I find myself going to alot of charity type events and have done a number of things for charty over the years (inc poker event)
One of the best ideas I've seen at a group type event was a pizza for every table in a table quiz, donated by the local pizzeria, this wouldn't be hard to adapt for a poker situation.
