First nightclub shots

Kennedy's nightclub in Galway. I can't really call them gig shots as my brief was to wander the club and snap everyone. I camped out on the dancefloor as the light and dry ice made for some really dramatic photos. Mostly I used the 17-85mm as I needed to get to grips with it; as well as that it was the only lens to give the flash good metering (I believe all USM do this?). I swapped over to the 50mm at the very end, but the money paying me had dried up so I called it a night. I plan to use the 28mm and 50mm tonight over the 17-85.

Not bad dude, were these for the club owners ?

I'd consider maybe using some rear curtain flash, bulb exposures

I promise you will have such a laugh trying it out !

You just think that because you can see most of her leg :P

I'd say try not to get peoples backs?
Or are you not allowed shoot faces?

Looks good though, movement but not too much.

I was shooting for movement. Besides, these shots will be "generic" photos of the club in question. I'm covering another nightclub on Thursday coming, I hope to use the 28mm and 50mm for sharper shots.

Looks good though, movement but not too much.

no its cause its looking up, slightly blurry, bring u in to the scene.
Color highlights are monotonous on the subjects so looks cooler.
ASWELL with ppls faces really ruins photos like those i think, with back, or bit of a face leads mystery and doesnt effects photos opinion on personal taste.
although if they were CHUBBA CHUBBAs i wouldnt like it
