    Hey guys,
Hope someone can help. I turned on my computer earlier today only to hear it shut off a second or 2 later. Now whenever I press the power button, I can see the fans spin for about half a second then die down. The computer refuses to start. Any ideas why? Power supply, motherboard?

    Thanks in advance.
    Digi.

I would say it is the power supply though I am no expert...

Possibly a bad motherboard. Try checking all the cabling. Also check for blown capacitors. You'll see brown stains on the top of them if they have.

Replaced the power supply, seems to work, however the CPU fan is not working so I'm keeping the machine powered off until I can replace it and place a bigger PSU in it.

A CPU fan won't stop if the power supply is too small for the rig... afaik.

I did not mean that. I believe that the fan has failed, so it will be replaced. However the PSU is considerably smaller than the previous one and the PC has alot of both internal & external devices.
