Hi all, does anyone know what the story is for the upcoming UFC 70? If you subscribe to Setanta Sports do you still have to pay to watch?? :)

I mailed setanta and didn't get a very clear response:

    Hi,

I am an NTL Ireland customer. I am wondering if it will be possible for Irish customers to watch the upcoming UFC 70, which I believe is being shown in the UK on setanta PPV.

    Thanks,

    Response:
    Dear hardCopy

Thank you for your e-mail. I can confirm that this is being shown on one of our pay per view channels and this e-mail address only deals with queries on the subscription service. Please visit the UFC website for further information.

Their website lists the same email address for UK and Ireland customers and doesn't list any other email for PPV

I've been on the Setanta website, no mention of their ppv channels, tried to find out more info but can't find out anything. It's ridiculous! On ppv channel 481 they're showing ufc countdown, but there's nothing on sky box office for ufc!!

You don't need a subscription to setanta.
When setanta showed a few UFC ppvs a few years ago I just had to ring the number on screen and type in the number on the sky viewing card, the cost was then added to the sky bill.

I think I read that it's still going to be shown on tape delay on Bravo the following night.

I'd rather pay and get the full live experience without having to watch all the ads and avoid the internet for the whole next day.

Anyone know how much it'll cost? I don't have setanta on Sky, hope it's not more for non setanta subscribers.

No it's not on Bravo either. Checked the Bravo TV schedule and there's no sign of it.

Hopefully Bravo will show it a few days later.

Looks like they're not unfortunately. uk.ufc.com TV listings Bravo are just showing a countdown to the event on Bravo2.

guess ill be watching it online so

looks like its going to be the same for any UK/Ireland hosted events as liddell vs jackson is gona be on bravo (on delay) but 72 in belfast is on ppv again. by the way, woohoo, liddell and jackson!!!

It's available for purchase on box office (sky) now but it's showing a start time of 12 midnight. Surely thats too late if it's live?

They probably want to keep the time it airs over here in line with the time that they'd be showing it in America

If you use the scroll down button in Box Office on the sky remote, it starts at 8pm on Sat. They have different times and days they're showing it, they're also showing it at 9pm on Sunday and again at 9pm on Monday which is probably why Bravo can't show it!!

I can't because I don't have Sky digital! Don't say Setanta are gonna start showing them all now.

You can watch a PPV webstream on UFC.tv

I doubt Dana will pull the UFC from Bravo.

When asked about breaking Europe he simply said "Thank God for Bravo.....thank **** for those guys....." and while Dana might be a bit of a prick he does look after the networks.

Its free to watch on satellite on 22 degrees west but I doubt many ppl have a motorised dish up plus a non sky box!
