I know I hate it too, but someone was wondering if it was possible to get Fox News on Chorus - is it?

IMO It's a poor, biased channel, Also only Pay TV everywhere, so FTA folk don't compare it with other Free news channels.

hey watty , long time no see.

I agree about Fox news - hate it. but you cant teach an old dog new tricks (dad) it his lifeline to the outside world.

Caught O'Reilly on the Late Show last night - gotta go out and buy a new telly - theres a brick thrown through mine now.

The singer that came on after bill was funny though - she added a few lines to her song, some thing like "they made me watch that fox news show.....but im all right now" very clever.

So back on topic - digital max 2 - when is that coming out?

There was a British Ofcom (the equivilant of Comreg, but with some of the features of the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland) ruling against Fox News for bias.

They made the ruling, but there was no legal means of enforcement as it's not broadcast from within the UK.

I don't know if relaying it on cable would potentially leave it open to being legally challenged via Comreg/BCI here as the cable cos here are licenced.
I doubt it somehow, but really, I would rather see some other channels getting slots way ahead of Fox News.

France24 might be a better choice for a new news channel for Chorus/NTL. Al Jezeera would be more balanced than Fox :)

Al Jazeera English is a fantastic channel. Was watching it alot while away, they seem to have scouted all the good reporters from CNN, BBC and Sky. Hope they get a bit bigger amongst Europeans :)

BBC World would be a good one to carry, though I presume it's expensive, as I don't know of any cableco's here relaying it.

Al Jazeera English is quite good alright. Though I only tend to watch it in small doses.

NTL carry BBC World already, channel 206 apparently.

BBC World free to carry, I think. BBC Prime is the pay TV.

Really? Well you'd better guess again and anyway the point you're making is?

BBC world is now carried by chorus on the cable network...agree with DJ regarding Al Jazeera English..I quite like it myself

Al Jazera English edition is vastly more balanced than Fox! There were more balanced broadcasts produced by WWII propeganda factories than some of the stuff on Fox News. The channel's an absolute disgrace.

It's The Sun for television, just without the sense of journalistic scruples the Sun has !

The only other "news channel" I would have issues with is CCTV (Chinese Central TV). "Everything's absolutely fine! The Government is absolutely great. Now let's look at a list of this years extremely good productivity statistics." That being said, even they're still balanced when they do stories, it's just a case that they avoid all controvertial issues. It's a bit like watching a corporate video with a bit of international news.

Or, as a mate of mine who lived in China said, top story on CCTV9 every day "Tiny African Country X has signed up to the One-China Policy"...
