Has anyone else found the Check raise has lost it's effectiveness as a bluff?
Against bad players it still works, but I've found good players looking me up a lot lighter lately.

hmmm i'm a bit piddled right now but i have been thinking the automatic bet when you hit the set is becoming more believable so I guess this would imply that the check raise is becoming less believable, all of this is generalising but yeah I think you have a point.

players have got smarter, more perceptive, and better, so they probably call your bluffs of all sorts less often

metagame like this is often cyclic
if the CR loses its appearance of strength,
then people will have to start ony using it when strong,
it will then regain its strength, and be useful as a bluff,
    rinse, and repeat
    metagame!

I find that a C/R bluff needs a turn lead to work more nowadays although I rarely C/R bluff a solid player.
