About a week ago, I wrote in this thread http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055074830
about Illegal System DLL Relocation errors that were not fixed by the patch Microsoft put out soon afterwards. The issue affected Windows Calculator, File Manager and the Quickstart service of OpenOffice.

I later found the cause, the Crystal XP Bricopacks: Vista Inspirat GUI improvement program that I had been using.

From what I've been reading I'm not the only one that is/was having these problems and confused by them.

So to anyone still having problems with Illegal System DLL relocations (affecting Shell32.dll) after manually applying the patch Microsoft issued, the cause is some software on your machine that made changes to system files in the past - these are incompatible with Microsofts 3rd of April updates, specifically KB925902.

Meh, I finally just uninstalled the ****ing update today.

I missed my calc not working and I'd rather not uninstall my brico pack just yet. 3 more weeks...

Ta for the heads up on the pack tho.
