hi, have been working on a website idea and have outsourced the web development and designed the site, now it is ready to be presented to clients but I dont want to just rush into this, would like to do it properly and have some kind of cohesive plan. Could anyone give advice as to the best way to go about this or is there anyone that would like to get involved in this project? :)

Depends on what the function of the website is and who it's aimed at.

    B2B B2C?

the website is aimed at a certain sector and has functionality whereby service providers in this sector can log in and add details and update profile there are competitors out there but this will be a free service for at least a year until it builds credibility, thanks for the link pwd, gonna check that out now, dont really want to market it to the public yet though, has to be first marketed to service providers so that it will have lots to offer when it does go live to the public, suppose email newsletters would be a good start, would like to get someone involved that could suggest the best way around answering phone queries and phone marketing & dealing with prospective clients...

I think the best way to attack this is head on. Get the Golden Pages, ring the guys up, make an appointment and call into them with a mock up or something. 15 mins in and out and then the site also has a face i.e. you!

I agree completely sportbilly, only thing is I'm not the best at presenting an idea face to face, but cant afford to hire somebody for this either, anyone have any ideas of the best way to team up with someone for a joint venture where they would be marketing/pr side, instead of wages could offer profit share..

Have you tried your local county enterprise board...I've no experience of them but I think they supply advice and support for small start ups and stuff like that.

Here is the wicklow one for example

    Hi Graffix,

I have been looking into this for the past 2 years. While everyone was rushing into the whole Google Adwords end of things I was staying at what I was developing for myself because it was working for me without any use of google tools on a website. From trying and changing my ideas for gaining traffic to my website I realised I had a lot of loyal visitors which triggered off the whole selling potential of other products I wasn't even advertising. there are certain fundemental neccesities for driving traffic to your website one of which I am writing about at the moment. I have found by trying to implement many different technical systems my website traffic was a lot less than when I was just concentrating on my methods. From spending almost 1 year searching and comparing and posting and chatting and informing myself about the available options for generating traffic to my website I gained most of my knowledge from trying too many times and failing, I payed out to SEO companies to get my rankings up but in the end they were using the whole adwords senario without the success I should have had for the money i was paying on a 6 month basis.

I plan to release my tried and tested findings in ebook form hopefully within the next month or so. While advising a friend on his website he convinced me to put pen to paper and write about my method which is responsible for my success in the past. graffix, if ur interested in a fr.ee transcript when ready then feel free to PM me or email me for an update when it's all ready. Please be patient because I have realised that while trying to make everything novice proof I am typing lots of text but this is very clear and to the point!. Basically If followed and shaped to your own needs it can be used for any business or website or organisation to generate traffic, customers and popularity.

    Rgrds

Does the site have ICT embedded? There are applications that you can add that allow communication which is excedllent for feedback and enquiries. Its also very good for 'fostering loyalty'.......hate the term but you get the picture

PS Do put google analaytics on the site. Then you can see where your traffic is coming from and how long they are staying. This will tell you which campaigns are working and how engaging the pages are......

Does 'embedding ICT' mean just adding a form or something more than that? It sounds good anyway... can you expand a bit (some examples maybe)?
