    And a first at that...don't even know what the C&C stands for! :o

    Anyway, got my DSLR last November and got stuck in for a while but busy this and that took over and only got to take some shots really again while away for a weekend recently...kinda like this shot

    Hey Felix!!! Congrats on your camera, and congrats on getting out and taking photos. I quite like the pic, the stones are bviously the best part of it. A stiller water-surface would probably reflect more of the crowd and fill in the picture a little, composition wise. You can also get a polarizing filter which will take the glare off the water.

    I like a nice simple composition... well spotted.

    If you used a polariser, you'd lose the reflection of the clouds!

    Framing slightly lower would lose the extra bit in the top right hand corner, you could even crop or clone it out - with such a simple composition it's good to get rid of any possible distractions.

    It looks like you've lost a bit of sharpness though - not sure if maybe your focusing was out slightly or you were using too long of a shutter speed? I'm useless at pulling out the exif data so I can't tell if that might have been the case.
