Hey peoples. I bought a lap top in Singapore for half nothing, so happy days. I am however having a few problems. Where can I downlaod a free MPeg2 Decoder for playing DVDs. Also the laptop came without a sound card, can one be installed or do I have to go with a USB sound card (which would be a pain plugging it in and out every time I use computer..) Any advice help would really be appreciated. Cheers

You can use vlc to play dvd's:

    www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

And you have a choice of pcmcia, or usb soundcard for your laptop.

Thanks a lot for the feedback and apologies for my delay in replying, Im downloading that MPEG player now. As regards the sound card issue, there is a headphone and mic jack, which would make it very strange for there to be no sound card, but when i look in audio devices, it says there is no audio device  The laptop is a HP Easynote F03, and it came with DOS only, I bought XP when I got to Oz.. Any more help or advice with the sound card issue would be great

I cant find anything online about a HP Easynote F03

This is the closest i can find, EASYNOTE F0335-001

Have a look at the forum below, and consider joining. Some users therte might be able to help you. It sound like you are just missing a driver for the soundcard.

Cant find much about this laptop at all, apart from it seems to only be dols on the russian market. and it comes with linux installed normally.
