Wasnt actually my hand, a hand i was reading on 2+2 and most people were suggesting folding pre-flop and maybe calling. Just taught this was bad but im raising here most of the time 1 because im in late position with a chance to steal the blinds and 2 when the blinds get big i want to know how tight loose the players acting after me are and what theyre calling range is and its alot cheaper to find out now. Even if i think the player is solid im still trying to steal the blinds here (albeit there not really worth stealing yet) almost always.

I know AT is far from a good hand and not a hand we want to call a raise with and not a hand we want to be playing in early position but i taught it would be an auto raise in late position as long as were comfortable playing it postflop if it gets to that and realise that flopping an ace isnt the nuts.

Just one more for opinions here from 2+2:

    How do you play this??

Only read on villain is that he has been limping a lot of mediocre hands and has been playing poorly but getting lucky.

this is why you shouldnt open limp.

you dont know if hes punishing limpers or whatnot.

put in a raise pf and its an easy fold to a rr.

as played? its a fold for me.

In hand 1 there is not much wrong with calling here.

Interesting. These days it's as if there are only 2 moves in poker and you are a heretic to think otherwise. These days min-raise isn't the crime it's limping. Having said that I would tend to raise in both of these situations.

open limping is the real crime.

This is what i was saying on the 2+2 thread, should never be open limping UTG and everybody said limping is good or best here.

I said that its just a standard 3x raise + 1 per limper and dosent neccessarily represent great strength but they all disagree and think this is a sign he has a big hand. I agree that hes committed if UTG raises all in but nobody is showing strength so i felt i could be a steal with a good but not a neccessarily a great hand. The fact that he limped UTG leaves him in this situation that he dosent know if it is a monster or just a 3x + limper raise. If he raised UTG and then the RR came in then we can narrow the range based on the player but by limping hes range here is much wider i would think.

Its just lately on 2+2 the advice seems very contradictory to the advice ive learned on boards over the past few months and this is another 2 hands. Hand 1 most were suggesting folding preflop and hand 2 most were saying limping is fine and fold to the monster Raise. I actually think folding/pushing is marginal but i still feel hes range was wider than they were saying. It turned out he had 66 but this was posted after my opinions.

You really need to know who to listen to on 2+2 as it seems you can pick up alot of contradictory and bad advice

    Heres the thread BTW
