I currently have an FTA/FTV setup with 3 digi boxes. Next week Sky are comming to install a new dish and box for a new subscription. I'll also be fitting a Sky eye in the bedroom for viewing the subscription channels there.

My question is, is there a way to prevent the Sky remote from changing the channel on both boxes as they will be side by side?
The problem will also arise in the bedroom (no jokes please:D) with the Sky eye and the existing digibox side by side.

An option is to mix Sky and Sky+ digiboxes.

I have 2 digiboxes side by side, a normal Sky box and a Sky+ one. The Sky+ and normal boxes have different remote codes and can be controlled independently.

I think that you can use a Sky+ box with a normal Sky subscription.

1)Polarising film 45 degree left and right tilt on each the two sensors. Horisontal on the remote. Then rocking the remote left or right works.

    2) Put a sky eye in other corner of room in a tube and put a tube on other sensor so the remote must be pointed. block sky eyed box sensor with tape.

    3) Put the box in a different room.

Yes a Sky+ only works without recording, or as a FTA non-recorder with no-sub. Theft really by sky. YOu own it. You ought to be able to record manually.

Thanks for the replies lads. It looks like I'll be plugging out one or the other as required.
I won't have a Sky+ box and I don't fancy trying to explain Wattys method to the missus.:D
