    Hi,

I am unfortunately stuck with Magnet Networks for my TV and have an Amino Aminet110 STB.

I am trying to set up Windows Media Center and can seem only to use the scart to go into a VCR and then use an RF cable to go from the VCR to the TV Card.

Is anyone familiar with this box who would be able to advise me of a way of getting better picture quality? I have S-VHS and phono inputs on the TV card as well as RF.

    Many thanks.

A true RGB SCART to s-Video converter (about 100+ quid, not a "dumb" SCART plug with a S-Video connector, those are for S-VHS machines that have S-Video out on some of the SCART pins). One that has a SCART pass through for the TV/VHS is a good idea.

s-Video is the highest quality for video capture. Even RGB is not really better as the colour content (U/V) in MPEG is lower quality than the Y (luminance or monochrome/B&W).

What I need is either female scart to s-video or else Aminet connector to s-video. As it stands, all I have is magnet connector to male scart.

Which output sockets do you have at your STB?

Not sure of the name of it. Think it is a specialised one for that box.

    According to the manufacturers:
With an Ethernet input and flexible audio/video output, together with S/P-DIF and an RF Modulator output, the AmiNET110 STB provides an elegant and powerful means of delivering sophisticated interactive digital television including multicast and on demand video along with Internet access. A USB interface is provided to support such functionality as games controllers.

Any ideas? I really appreciate the help.

Check if you can set the video output to s-video in the stb settings.
If yes you need a cheap scart to s-video adaptor and maybe a scart switching box.
If no you can try to connect the output of the RF modulator to the antenna input of your pc card.
