    Question 1:
Playing a tourny the other day, 5 handed. SB posts 4k, I post 8k on the BB.
Cards are dealt out - first player mucks.
Before the button looks or the cut off acts - the button says the blinds are up to 5k and 10k. The clock shows that we've been in this level for 4 minutes.
TD's called - what should be the correct ruling?
    Question 2:
Blinds are at 1k and 2k, folded to the SB who announces 5 more and throws a 5k chip on top of his 1k SB. Should he have to raise 5k more to 7k or is this ok to do, leaving the bet at 6k?

Q1. If it wasn't announce then this hand has already started. The hands starts at the first riffle.

Q2. He said 5k more. So thats 7K. Its verbally binding.
If he just through in the 5K it would of been ok, (assuming that it was clearly a raise.

Q1: In the club where i play in waterford, they would leave the blinds at 4k/8k for this hand, then when the next hand is dealt the blinds would move up to 5k/10k. I am sure this would only happen in small club games and not major games.

Q2: In this hand he's bet would be 7k total

    1. On the next hand blinds are up, not this one.

    2. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and leave it at 6 as that is clearly his intention. I would tell him to announce total bets though.

i think if the blinds were clearly up before the cards were riffled in the hand then it should be 5K 10K.

    2nd hand 6K is fine.

The blinds had to have gone up before the cards were riffled - that's where the controversy lay.

I thought the 2nd one was more straight forward but obviously it's not as 2 implied 7k and 2 implied 6k

I like these, common sense goes a long way.

I would agree with both of these, blinds were obviously up before cards were riffled and this table should not have an advantage over other tables. Again the TD should have announced blinds were up.

Player stated 5K more, that can be interpreted as 5K more than his SB or a raise of 5K on the Call of 2K. Dealer should advise him to state the amount in future

In question 2, I see no harm in letting his 6k stand. He has already put in a bet of 1k(sb) and he annopunces 5k more. Obviously he means 5k more than his original bet and a little word in his ear afterwards that he would be better off announcing the full size of his raise would solve the problem. RT is right when he says common sense goes a long way.

would look at me cards. Then insist on him putting the other 1K in. Once he had done this I would fold laughing to myself. :D

First hand. Not enough action has taken place so the blinds are 5K/10K for this hand even if UTG has folded.

Second hand. I wouldn't get too persnickety with this. The guy obviously just wants to make it 6K (5K on top of the 1K he already has in) and i'd leave it at that.
