How does one sort visas for these countries if going there for only a month during the summer??????

do we need to apply officially or just collect at airport?

And What about vaccinations.....what is needed to be got?????
Would they affect u if you got them before exams??

You can get a visa on arrival in thailand (for 30 days), or you can apply for one through the Thai Consulate.

Vietnam visa can either be gotten before you go (by applying through the Vietnam Embassey in the UK), or when you get to Thailand (but it'll mean staying around the one spot in Thailand for a few days - and assuming you're starting off in Thailand).

Cambodia can also be gotten on arrival.

There's a south-east Asia mega thread someplace around here, if you go back a few pages you'll probably find it.

Are you planning on getting around those three countries in a month, or a month for each? Have you looked into flights (or something like a Discovery pass?

Went to Vietnam last summer, sorted out the visa by post to the UK before travelling, details here:

Absolut is correct, the cheapest thing to do if you intend staying in one place in cambodia for a few days is to get the vietnam visa there. its a lot less than the london option. any guest house worth its salt could arrange this. It took me three days to get it while in siem riep and cost $60. you could also call to the vietnamese embassy in bangkok or the consulate in battambang and do it yourself but i've no idea how long it would take. apparently it is easy.

Just aftervisiting all three during February, hardly had time to unpack but absolutely mindblowing

    all three in july.......

might not do it now cause of vaccinations and work getting there! trying to balance work for exams

The vaccinations are just two injections, one in each arm. One covers Hepatitis (think it's Hep B), the other tetanus, typhoid and dyphtheria. It feels like a bruise for the following two days or so, but nothing too intense. One is a little more sore than the other - so get it done in the arm that you don't use to write with.

It shouldn't really matter if you get them before your exams.

is it true that you have to get the hep b vaccination a few times before you go.....like now, in a week and then a month????

Yes, that's true, according to my Doctor Hep B is a course of three injections over 6 months or a course of 4 over 2 months (well, 3 over two months before you go & 1 when you get back).

The vaccination with Tetanus is Hep A.

what about the weather in these places in June/July? When does the wet season kick-in?

Vietnam’s weather is complicated, to say the least. The pages in this section provide an overview, specific descriptions of the prevailing weather patterns in each of the country’s main areas, and information about Vietnam’s more extreme weather conditions.
The weather in Vietnam in July and June will be extremely hot, especially in Northern Cities like Hanoi.

Regarding your visa question, you can visit Vietnamese embassy in Dublin:

Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam
    12-14 Victoria Road
    London W8 5RD
    Tel: 004420-7937 1912
    Fax: 004420- 7565 3853
    E.Mail: embassy@vietnamembassy.org.uk

Or another option for you is to get a visa on arrival at airport, it is a so-called approval letter that allows you to board the plane.

Vietnam visa on arrival at GV
Vietnam visa online at my vietnam visa
other similar companies would be vietnamstay.com, stayinvietnam.com

    Cheers.

I got a 14 day visa for Vietman from the embassy in Bangkok and it only took a couple of hours at most. I don't know if the 1 month visa takes longer but if you are only spending a month all together then a 14 day visa should be sufficient. Embassy was really easy to find and wasn't much hassle at all.
