    Howdy folks!

I'm a final year student in DCU, and as I write this I've about 6 weeks max left in college before I'm officially in the real word(Fact is I don't want to be finished, I love college!).

Anyway to delay the inevitable I've decided not to start work until September, which leaves the Summer free. What I can do for the duration of the Summer is my problem. Get a job and travel for ages? Laze around at home? Um... other ideas? I haven't decided yet! Does anyone have any interesting ideas!?

Good advice from all, and that thread is pretty good too! Main problem is my family, who though they are supoportive, have this serious negativity about me travelling i.e "Stay home for the Summer, you can't leave!". Its an obstacle to get around, but I do think the travel idea is the best!

Sooner you realise you're your own person and dont have to listen to your family for things like that the better. You're not a kid anymore. It's your life, live it how YOU like.

Reassure your folks that you will be fine and let them know that you need to get away for a little while. I'm sure they are looking out for you.
My folks were against me travelling at first but I went ahead and done so, made sure to let them know I landed safe, etc and it was fine ever since. Good luck and stay safe.
