I find Matlab on OS X is a pain, so I installed it on my XP partition and run it like that, much faster. It was the only reason I installed bootcamp actually was to run Matlab. Then again I mostly do audio work which slows things down a lot, and OS X just didnt seem to like it.

Worth checking out if you are on an intel mac anyway.

That is no way to talk to anyone, and I would especially expect better from a mod.

Installing X11/Matlab, etc, the whole process can be rather difficult for anyone. Your attitude stinks IMO.

By the way, if anyone is still stuck on installing X11, there are easy to follow instructions here:

    http://www.freesmug.org/tutorial/X11_10.4

    or

If it had been my call to do anything about it back then, I would have.

I use MATLAB regularly on OS X - really bugs me why the mathworks won't make a native version.

Perhaps Im wrong but I do believe that since R2007a Matlab has been native on intel macs

Anyone know where to get it, I don't have my OS X installation disc with me and I'm trying to install open office. Its for 10.4 as well so the apple site doesn't have it for download anymore.

Just found a link that wasn't up last time I searched.

    http://cjmart.in/2006/12/01/install-x11-on-tiger-without-the-tiger-install-dvd/

in case anyone had the same problem as me.

Leopard definitely has X11 out of the box. When I say native I mean I wish the Mathworks would get the finger out and make a Cocoa/Carbon application instead of just rebundling the X11 UNIX one.
