    Hello folks.

I'm new to this forum and I'm interested in taking up CQC. I've heard it's a great form of self defence and was wondering if there's anyone qualified on this board to teach it, or does anyone here know of anyone here qualified to teach it?

    Thanks.

    Hi m8,

If your based in Dublin you could drop Jon Mackey a PM - he's been training with Lee Morrison of Urban Combatives (he's on Lee's instructor course at the moment). There is aslo Aiden Carroll at (who's also training under Lee) - www.kravmaga.ie

    Cheers,

    B.

PS - might be a good idea to get to a few of the seminars that are coming up too.

    Hi Baggio.

    Thanks for replying. :)

I'm actually based up in Lisburn.. Do you know of anyone up in that neck if the woods?

    No problemo....

I don't to be honest...:( Some of the other lads might know if there is something up there.

A few of us were thinking about getting some regular CQC meetings up and running at some point in Dublin (once a month). So you'd be welcome to pop down when it gets sorted (prolly be able to arrange a place you could crash). I'm not sure if you've seen Lee Morrison's work, but check it out; www.urbancombatives.com

It would be based around his material - which is excellent btw. A few of us are on his instructors course at the moment.

    I'll keep you posted,:)

Coming down to Dublin sounds good.. You could keep me posted on that..:)

I've been on Lee's site looking around and it looks good.. I've also been doing a bit of searching on the web, looking for seminars I could attend and the names Dave Turton, Russell Stutely, Mo Teague and Mick Coup have turned up.. Do you know anything about any of them?

    I know the names alright...

I've trained with Mick Coup a few times (in fact I did his website :))
    www.corecombatives.com

If you get the chance definitely train with him, he's a great instructor. Your in luck as he's holding a seminar here this weekend. Don't know if your free, but if you get the chance I'd definitely recommend you make it down - his stuff is great, and would be well worth a trip. Mick and Lee are considered to be some of the top CQC guys around.

    Here's the chap to contact for the seminar;

    2 day seminar April 14 and 15

    Hope it helps!

    Cheers for that Baggio.

I'll not make it down at such short notice I'm afraid, but I'll give the website a look and see what's what.. :)
