Setting Lpt1 to act as com1

    Is there any way to set Lpt1 to act as com1. I have a parallel port on my computer but no serial port. I have a device that I need to connect which only has serial port. I have a cable adaptor but I need to computer to think Lpt1 is com1.
    Any help appreciated
