I tend to fire off both shoulders and find my TM Sig 552 is excellent on either. Have not relly noticed any problems there or with my Glock 18C either

With the P226 the grips slightly favour right handers but this is because of the position of the slide release and decocking lever, that force a slight buldge that hugs the thumb of a right hander. For a lefty it moves your trigger finger out a little.

My brother is a lefty and can use it no problem, its just a little awkward to reach the mag release etc.

The grip, fire selector and cocking lever on the G36 is symetrical so there is no problem if your a lefty.

On the armalites, I think the fire selector is only on the left side so that may be annoying for a lefty.

Not the real thing, cocking lever and the ejection port are issues.

There are two ejection ports, one on the right one the left. If you are right handed you put a port cover on the right ejection port so the casings go out the left pore. I'm not sure about the cocking handle though.

Same for every rifle that ejects to the side, but the steyr comes in a left handed model. If you look at the real one their is a template scored on to the body where you can cut out the left ejection way. Then your repalce the bolt with a left hand version. Its not just a matter of covering the ejection way on one side as the ejector spring on the bolt specfically throws the casing to the right. Cocking handle stays the same or else you would have to change the barrel, housing and gunlock groups.

The airsoft version is abi though.

AK's are actually more suited to left handed people. Since the fire selector is on the right & just above the trigger. Mag release is ambi, as is the grip.

I would imagine that most, but not all AEG's can be used by both left & right handed people. Wouldn't be a smart move by a firearms manufacturer to release a product that can't be used by a significant portion of a military force, and our AEG's are replica's of these.

i was thinking bout an ak aswell. dunno bout other countries but in the irish defence forces you have to use your aug right handed, even though they are easily converted.

while marching you'd look a bit thick if your rifle was pointing the opposite way from everyone elses anyway

I think most if not all armies are like that, you're always tought to fire right handed regardless.

Even though I'm right handed, I prefare firing my AEG left handed because I'm left eye dominant. When I shoulder the AEG on my left I can look down the sights with my left eye with boths eyes open. If I shoulder it on my right, I have to close my left eye to get my right eye to focus down the sights.
