I'm heading to a Liverpool for a game the weekend of 20th April, wondering if anyone would make a recommendation on where to stay Liverpool -v- Manchester, which is nicer, better craic etc. Anyone know how long it takes to travel from one to the other? Accommodation looks scarce/pricey in both places on this weekend, any recommendations welcome!!! thanks.

Are you saying your going to see Manu V Liverpool? If so your gonna be disappointed as they have played each other this season. Only chance of them meeting again is in the CL.

Ok sorry your asking which location is better for a game. Sorry. We always stay in Bewleys Hotel at the airport due to it's cheap cost. Nice hotel too.

79 stg every night of the year.

www.travelodge.co.uk is usually good for reasonable rooms. Just make sure that there is public transport near the hotel as many are on motorways/main roads only suitable for car access.

Liverpool - Manchester takes about 50mns by fast train and there are at least 2 every hour, there are other frequent slower services, anything from 1h to 1h30.

Fare is £8.40 single or £8.50 return

Manchester Airport is about 20mns farther usually with a change in Manchester Piccadilly.

Manchester is a much better option i reckon, prices around the same in both city's.

Anytime I go over to see Everton I usuall stay at the IBIS hotel near Albert Dock in Liverpool. Good location right in the city centre area. Reasonable price as well:

Usually about £50 per night per room.
