I'm off to Florida for me holliers in a few weeks and intend to do a bit of shopping while I'm there. Will probably get an iPod and am seriously thinking of getting a DS.
Am I right in saying they are completely region free, hardware and software?
Can anyone tell me if the a/c adaptor supplied is dual voltage? i.e. will I need a plug adaptor or a euro power supply? I'm guessing a new power supply will probably negate any saving made by buying over there.
Any games in particular I should look for, that may not be released here yet? I'd be more interested in the likes of the brain training, trauma centre and phoenix wright type of stuff (I think).

Yeah they're region free, games, hardware everything.

You can pick up a charger here cheaply, Gameboy Advance chargers work as well (same connection)

A plug adapter may even work with the original US power supply.

I got a DS over the NYC a few years back, games are plentiful and cheap.

Elite beat agents is well worth picking up. Best game on the DS.

    Master of the Universe

DS consoles are so much cheaper over there that I'm actually annoyed I didnt buy more to bring home.
$130 new in Gamestop if I remember correctly. Which is less then €100. Got one for myself. works perfectly.

I bought a DS Lite in Florida last year and had no problems . You will need to get a European power supply the one you get in the US the prongs that go into the socket fold into the body of the charger i couldnt find an adapter that could take the charger .AFAIK it is not dual voltage .The other option is to pick up a USB charger lead ,less than $10 , and charge from PC.

The Game Boy Advance charger only fits the DS not the DS lite.
