Which sony memory stick??

    Hi guys

Haven't posted on photography before so excuse me if this is a silly question.

I have just bought a 1gb memory stick pro from a sony shop in dublin.
I have other memory sticks but I will be taking a lot of photos in the next week so I decided to get another one, just to have as back up. It cost me €69.

My camera is quite old in digital camera standards, it was bought in 2001 and is 3.4 megapixels.
It suits me fine and I have used it to get some great photos for the last 6 years but it is slowing down a bit and has got bashed around a lot over the years.

My question is this, If I want to get a new (sony) camera in the next year or two (as I probably will), should I have got a memory stick pro duo instead of the memory stick pro.
I think most new sony digital cameras now use the duo version asfaik.
    Am I right?
If I get a duo card now I would be able to use it in any new sony camera in the future, and I can use it now in my current camera and PC with an adaptor?????

(is this the way they are going with memory cards or is there something new again on the horizon?)

Should I take it back and get a duo instead or is there a point?

    Any help appreciated.

Always Duo these days as they work in both ( with the aid of a small adapter , usually comes with the memory ).

Also , as has probably been mentioned too many times on boards , everyone in the Sony shop should be wearing masks !!
69 is way over the odds for a 1GB stick , 40 is more like it !!

    Thanks
    Had a look at komplett.ie
Looks good but it has a €12 delivery charge? Is that right?
So it works out at €50 (which is still cheaper).

Have read a few bad experiences about them on this forum (well only two!) so I hope it will be ok.
