After long absence from photography I decided today im going bring it in to town and takes pictures of my friends skating but I turend it on anyways and the battery was low so I left it charge for awhile til the light went green took it out and pout it in the camera.. battery meter on the camera is still on one bar!

Im going to upgrade the firmware now see if that solves anything!

i was shooting a gig once and made sure I charged the battery before I left... bout 5 photos into the gig the 350 stopped working and the battery meter was empty!!! Almost had a heart attack!!

Just took out the battery and put it back in and the meter was full then..! It's happened a handful of times before..

I use the BG-E3 battery grip with 6 x 1300mAh Ni-MH AA rechargeables. When I use these the camera always tells me they're almost empty (something to do with them being only 1.2V each). But on a full charge they can last up to two weeks of normal shooting. 4 or 5 days heavy shooting.

Li-ions can be a bit tricky. They should always be stored as about 40% charge and only fully discharged one every 30 cycles or so to recalibrate the fuel meter. Unlike other battery types you should actually top them up regularly as a full drain actually ages them.

Actually, was on my way over to Fredmiranda.com there - My 5D is flying through batteries, before I'd get 2 weeks constant use out of them, now I'm lucky to get 6 hours.
