    Hi, I play bass (b-guitar and stand-up bass) and look for some people to play good blues (no 70s covers!). I like Muddy Waters and Bo Diddley but also modern people like Popa Chubby, George Thorogood and Sue Foley. However, I am not a professional and do not want to become one.

    Where are you based? If you're near cork, I'd be up for that.

    My blues is band is looking for a bass player, either bass guitar or stand-up, whatever you're comfortable with. We're strictly amateur, playing for fun, but expecting to play weekend gigs from time to time. We're based in Navan, but our singer lives in Dublin (Cabra area).

    We play mostly classic blues songs, the standards (Muddy, Elmore James, Robert Johnson), but slightly rock-blues influenced - Paul Butterfield, Clapton, Buddy Guy etc - Is this what you meant by no 70s covers? We curently have a drummer, guitarist, vocalist and harpist (harmonica). We don't do 10-minute guitar solos or extended jams, we like to keep the songs tight.

    Does this sound like something you'd be into? If you want to check out our sound, try this;
