    I know the mathematics involved between Total ROI and Average ROI.(*) But can someone tell me which one should be used for what? I noticed that the two percentages can be quite far apart in cases.

    * = quick example: 50E game 1st 300E, 25E game 3rd 50E and 100E game no cash; makes: ITM 67%, Tot.ROI 100%, Av.ROI 167%

    the important thing is $ won which is closely related to your total ROI.

    Total return is to tell if you are up or down and my how much. This is a long term assessment, as a large win in a MTT early on could affect the value alot.

    The average return shows how much you win or lose per game. This is a good indicator of how well you are playing at the current level. If this is a +value in the long term you should make money, as long as you dont donk if off in massive buy-in events

    So if I understand correctly Av.ROI is good for "short assessments" whereas Tot.ROI is the long term important statistic...

    Total ROI is long term,
    Average is both long and short term,

    in the end they should be the same number,
