What direction will season 3 go in?

Just wondering what everyone's opinion on this is.

Personally, I don't quite think that Michael and Lincoln were genetically engineered. I'd rather think that the "it's in his blood" remark was aimed at his father and how he managed to excape from the clutches of "The Company" for so long. Maybe this is just me hoping that the show doesn't take a Sci-Fi twist. I think that I would be a bit disappointed if I discover that his escape was aided by genetic engineering and not just plenty of cunning and logic.

Regarding the other characters, Mr Kim is definitely dead. They had begun to introduce the general near the end of the season and he's the connection within the company that we will all now be intriuged to learn more about. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that Sucré doesn't make it. He had lost way too much blood and looked as if he had given up hope in life prior to collapsing. I hope to see Agent Mahone in the next series, he really was a fabulous addition to the show! I know that Sarah (and possibly Bruce) will be involved anyway but I can't think of ways that she can be, not towards the start of the season anyway.

I'm still debating whether or not I want to see Michael break out almost immediately and see where the writers take us from thereonin, or have them dedicate the series to him getting used to the surroundings and focus on the planning stages of his escape (which would make sense if this is going to be a 4-5 season show).

Not to give away too much but the writers did promise us a gritter darker edge to the third season so i'm expecting something similar to an 'Oz' feel (but in saying that, this is 'Fox' so it'll have to be a PG-13 'Oz' so i'd imagine they'll take out a certain amount of buggery).

I can't see it taking a Sci-Fi twist.. i personally would like to see Michael stay in Sona for at least half a season and go through absolute hell. I don't take pleasure in his discomfort but i think the show does need to be injected with a bit more realism.

No I dont think it'll go down the Sci-fi path. They would lose a lot of viewers i'd say. Linc will probably make contact with the people his father was working with to help Michael, because lets face it, he's not the smartest tool in the box. General guy said he wants Michael out of SONA because maybe it's Linc they want in there. To say what SONA is, well it could be a lot of things. All I really know is I cant wait until Season 3.

I wonder if SONA is really SON A.. as in Lincoln??

Hmmmmm.. that went a bit over my head. How exactly would Lincoln be Son A?

I think he means that Linc was the first son. I think thats a bit to far out there.

Well he's the first son.Although i don't think thats what sona is.

As far as the whole "its in his blood" thing goes,i think theres nothing to it.Just the writers trying to keep us guessing for the next season. If he was an experiment would they really have had Mahone try to kill him?

Personally i think it would take something away from the show if Michael was an experiment.

I dont really see the next series going down the sci fi route. Mainly they'd probably lose a lot of viewers who have been watching it for the pure twists, turns and cunning human ability of Michael.

I'd love to know what sona is but i think the whole Son 'A' is a bit far fetched mainly because Mahone and Bellick are in the prison as well. Personally i think Sona is one of those prisons where they throw people who dont exist anymore (like the prison on the oil rig in Face/Off) because of the fact that it looks like a prison which is run by the inmates (widespread drug use in the prison plus the security guard even said "This is as far as i go")

The general completely confuses me though!

because Mahone and Bellick are in the prison as well.

Aren't Mahone and Bagwell in a different prison. The impression I got of Sona was that the polica don't touch the place whereas Mahone looks as if he's just been dragged to a cell in a normal prison.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 341 ✭✭Frankieboy

Well they kept Mahone in his handcuffs, and took them off Michael, so maybe he went somewhere else.

We don't know for sure that TBag is in the prison either. He is police custodity but that's all we know for sure.

i think sarah might be pregnant with michaels baby. therefore there is a new genetic breed! thats probably why she was getting followed.

I don't think Sucré will die - the great majority of US tv programs adhere to the rule that The Guy That Does Something For Love Must Win. The writers won't allow his romantic quest for MariCruz to end with him dropping dead on a dusty Panamanian road.

I like the idea of Michael spending the first half of the season scoping Sona out and coming up with a new plan (and maybe getting a few home-made tattoos).

It does look like Mahone was taken somewhere else but I think him and T-Bag will end up in Sona with Bellick and Michael anyway, just for the drama of them all working together to escape.

Never thought bout that! I dunno tho cus whenever they were together they were never together for that long plus i dont think they were ever left alone either. I cant really see the writeers killing off Sucré either. He's Michael closest friend plus he's still no where near finding Marie Cruz.

Personally i think Mahone is in Sona as well. Surely we wouldnt have seen Micahel and Mahone come (nearly) face to face outside the same prison if they werent destined for the same place!

Sarah Wayne Callais is actually pregnant at the moment so it would make sense to integrate this into the storyline OR have the story focus primarily around Michael until near the end of the season.

I think I read somewhere that Scheuring said he wasn't going to write her pregnancy into the third series. He also said he wouldn't get rid of her character because she was pregnant in real-life.

So that basically confirms that we won't be seeing her until well into the season? Unless they airbrush her bump out :p

Obviously Sarah Wayne Calles will not be in the early episodes of the new series, she will be introduced near the end or in the middle so this will lead to a storyline of her being missing or maybe even kidnapped.
Thinking back to the last ep, that seems to be what they are going to do because remember Lincoln was looking for her in the street outside the police station and then he saw her but she disappeared.
I think her whereabouts will still be unknown when the new season starts.

    So what about kellerman?

Who did the guys shoot in the prison van at the end? Assassination or escape?

I personally hope it was an escape. The man was a pure legend, one of my favourite characters in Prison Break. I have a feeling that he will be grand, and it is indeed the guard that gets shot....... Well I hope so anyway.

Fox revealed that 4 main cast members were in the Sona Prison, ie. Michael, Bellick, Mahone and T-Bag. I have a feeling they'll be stuck in the prison for the whole series, trying to escape while Lincoln and Sarah try to free them from the outside.
Whether Sucre will be back next year is questionable, although I love the character, I don't see how he'll fit in to the story, as he can't help Sarah and Linc, since he's still a wanted felon and even if he is caught, he won't go to Sona. He may guest star in a few episodes but that's probably it.
C-Note definitely won't be back and since Kellerman and Kim are dead, they won't be back either.

You could be onto something there; at the end of the season the baldy general guy said "we want him to" (Scofield to escape from Sona that is).
I assume whoever or whatever is behind the general guy have some ulterior motive for wanting this to happen. Maybe there's some important American agent inside in Sona that they want Scofield to break out?
I don't think it's something along the lines of wanting Scofield to escape as a kind of scientific experiment, the writers would have to be really dumb to do that.

Fox revealed that 4 main cast members were in the Sona Prison, ie. Michael, Bellick, Mahone and T-Bag

I didn't see that myself anywhere;we know Bellick is in there 'cause we saw him on the floor in the final scene, we know Mahone is in there because he was taken out of a van outside the entrance at the same time as Scofield.
We only saw T-Bag in the cell in the police station but I suppose it's fair ro assume he was taken to Sona as well.

I have a feeling they'll be stuck in the prison for the whole series, trying to escape while Lincoln and Sarah try to free them from the outside.

I hope that doesn't happen, that would be too much like a repeat of season one.
Whether Sucre will be back next year is questionable, although I love the character, I don't see how he'll fit in to the story,

He'll be back alright; Bellick has his bird locked up somewhere remember?

since Kellerman and Kim are dead, they won't be back either

Kim is toast alright, but Kellerman? I wouldn't be too sure!

all i can say is.....if linc gets a tattoo, goes to prison to break micheal out i'm not watching it.
and this whole conspiresey thing has gone on way to long as it is.
prison break is really in danger of becoming the Xfiles 2.
the general really reminds me of cancer man(or smoking man or whatever his name was.)

Ye but Sucre's wife or whatever martycruse is more than likly locked on a whole or cellar so without belick to say where she is im sure she will be dead from starvation by the time season 3 beings.

The actor that plays Kellerman is in the new Greys Anatomy spinoff, so if he's back, expect it to be a short run.

What's the spinoff called? Have never watched Grey's Anatomy, but I'm guessing it's not comparable to Prison break. I'd be tempted to check out this spin-off if Kellerman is in it, though.

Think you're getting confused with LOST. Do you have a source for this. I don't think you're right. FOX renewed it for a full season, starting in August back in April and I haven't heard any change of plan since, so unless you have a reliable source for your info, I refuse to believe you.

But isn't season 3 gonna be a short season, less than 15 epsiodes?

If it is, they'd never start it on Aug

I was kinda looking forward to seeing Mahone and Michael as roomies tbh.

Although, now that I think of it, there did seem to be a lack of erm..you know.....cells in Sona Prison.
