I have updated the maps on my Garmin i3 Streetpilot to version 9NT. It's got all of western Europe even though when I got the device it was supposedly only UK & Ireland.

Anyway, even though I have sent new maps to the device,it still states that the current map is a year old and should be updated. Any suggestions as to why this might be happening?

delete the maps from your SD card and re-install the new maps . You know the procedure for doing this ???

I don't know how to erase the old maps.

There is an option to 'erase garmin storage card' in the mapsource software, but it doesn't register the device...

Unfortunatly it doesn't show under my computer.

I'll have to wait till I get access to a card reader. Thanks for the advice...
