I think it depends on how much time the seller has. Given the right buyer, and assuming the car is really good, it might make as much as €1,500. That said, coming at it from a dealer's perspective i'd say your value is about right.

VRO put the omsp at 4700 euro as its a collectable classic
I'm still laughing at 4700 euro and not what i would call a collectable classic
The VRT they want (1175 euro ) is more like its open market selling price

Anything between classic and modern is collectable according to those w@nkers in the VRT office. Its just an excuse to collect more taxes for them.

A car like that will become a classic in a few years time.

The thing is though, at the moment, it is in sort of the twlight stage, it is too young to be a classic, but too old to be taken seriously as a 'modern' everyday car (plus the engine size).

If it was a Lotus Carlton on the other hand....

Dread to think what VRT they would want for a LC , now that is a classic

Could understand if the was something to compare it against on the open market , on there system there is the CDX 3.0 with a VRT of 315 euro , both cars be very similar in spec .Would pay the 315 euro cos road tax is going to be 1109 euro but 1175 euro VRT - no way
As for the 3.0 24v it is actually cheaper to run than the 2.0 Ive got at the moment , 2.0 cant pull the weight and is too under powered for the hills
