By the way I might be hosting a jam session on the friday or saturday evening (about 4-6pm probably) outside Bray Library. We've already had two before (one at bray jazz last year) and they were great fun and some great music was played :). So if you're interested in playing a few tunes at Jazz At The Library either PM me or post up in this thread. Jazz/ Blues/ Funk/ Soul/ World musicians welcome!!!

I agree, but Louis Sclavis is definitely worth going to IMO.

Cool, don't really know much about the headliners so if anyone has any recommendations I'd like to hear them.

Louis Sclavis is a clarinetist who seems to cover a varity of genres from semi-classical to free jazz. The cd I have features him doing the latter with Brazilian saxist Ivo Perelman. This type of music would not be to everyone's taste but I think it is excellent. Hard to know what he'll play on the day. A mixture of all the music he is involved with would be ideal.

Do you mean the regular Dublin Bus, or is there a special Bray Jazz bus? The latter would be very impressive

Get the dart it's a lot quicker and easier.

Are there no jazz/blues musicians on this forum anymore? I remember the days when people would murder for a good jam session. PM me if interested.

    Daddio,

Is the jam session live or acoustic ? I could bring the axe down and plug in. Only thing its an ES175, don't know if it would survive the dart trip home that night and I'd have to drag it around everywhere.

Should have learned jazz harmonica !

Agreed. But whatever you do dont miss the last dart back into town. I missed it last year and had to pay approx 25 or 30 euro for a taxi because Dublin was outside it's area of work.

Live indeed, it is possible to store instruments in a lock up if you want to collect it the following day (saturday 5th).

Yep, the taxi can be quite nightmarish. I don't know if there's a nightlink service back into dublin but I'll try to find out.
