You should be getting something I think if it's just regular over the air analogue broadcasts are you actually getting a TV signal ?

The tv signal is perfect. Its just tv programs are not listed in the guide so i cannot pre record programs.

Another problem I have is that when recording programs they stop recording after 10 minuates. Any ideas??

    Thanks

Did you set up the Guide after scanning for services? It may be no harm to run setup again.

Regarding recordings stopping after ten minutes, I'm guessing that's some default in Media Centre if you don't have programme guide information available. When you do have the guide set up and hit record, it stops recording when the programme it meant to end, as per the programme guide information.

I know what the problem is now but can seem to fix it. When I scan for service I get the error message "No service were found. Make sure your TV signal is properly connected to the computer".

I am able to pick up all the tv channels. What I dont understand is why it is not able to find a listing

    HELP !!!

Which TV service provider did you stipulate? Is there a specific option for aerial?
If there isn't, you may need to play around with the MCEtuningoverrides.xml file (or whatever the exact filename is these days).

e.g. Use the EPG for something like NTL analog, but then tweak the frequencies to match those picked up on your aerial, then remove the channels from the EPG that you don't receive.

I chose the Region, dublin, Ireland and then it preformed a scan and it could not pick up anything. I was not given an option to select a cable provider. I am using an aeriel and there is no specific option.

How do i play around with the MCEtuningoverrides.xml file??

I do not understand what you mean by "e.g. Use the EPG for something like NTL analog, but then tweak the frequencies to match those picked up on your aerial, then remove the channels from the EPG that you don't receive"

    Thanks
