I'm selling the car at the link in my signature. It's up on CarZone and BuyAndSell too. Do you think I have priced it realistically? This is my second attempt at selling it, the first was before christmas. It was probably over priced then.

I hope to buy a car I have seen on one of the Toyota owner's club sites in the UK. It's a private sale and the guy has dropped his price to get it off his hands. Basically, he's in the same situation as me, in that he has found his new car.

It seems reasonable enough for that price. There are cheaper ones but your has low milleage so it should sell. It's just a matter of time.

Your car certainly looks to have been well looked after and should be an attractive purchase for someone.

The market for petrol engined Passats is as you know a lot tinner than for the diesels so it's not as easy to price.

A quick trawl comes up with this: Similar mileage, also private sale, not so good colour asking €8,750

After that there are a few with comparable mileages offered by dealers, so would be more attractive for someone looking to trade-in or have the security of a warranty.

Try ringing some of those dealers and ask what their "cash price" is on the car.

It is. I've spent a fair few quid in maintaining. Hence the sting when I have to lower the price.

My opinion is that your price should be more like €X....
I have a bit of wiggle room. Will have to see how it's going.

I had a call about her there. I have a guy viewing on Tuesday. I'm getting optimistic and have booked a flight to Birmingham for Friday morning. :D

    That's €25. I won't book the ferry back until she's sold.

I reckon you'll do well to get 9995 for it. A dealer advertising at 11500 will probably sell for 10K straight deal. About 8.5K would be a more reasonable price. Looks nice though, and I hope you get more.

You don't even want to know what that would cost me.

    Valid opinion though.
