    Hi,
when i was in 6th class i could speak irish quite well, our teacher was fantastic. secondary school was a disaster. i´m now living in Spain and know what it takes to learn and speak a language.
what would you reccommmend i do to try to get back to the level i had when i was 12?! any good online refresher courses, i´m sure i´m not on my own, i´m sure there are lots of people with plenty of irish words, phrases etc in there head but just dont need to use them.

Hi, I'm in the same boat as you. I recently bought turas teanga. It's good if you already know some gaeilge but have forgotten a bit and aren't as sharp as you used to be. Get the full dvd set. Should help you loads.

    Also in the same boat.

Also bought the Turas Teanga set:- book, 3 Cds & 2 DVD's.
Yea, they're pretty good. When I'm too tired for study I just watch an episode on the DVD.
Also bought the 'Teach Yourself Irish' set:- book & 2 CD.
    Similar to Turas Teanga.

Thinking of buying the Gearrscannán DVD from Oideas Gael. Looks quite good.
Have you seen any of the short films like Yu Ming is ainm dom, or Mac an Athar. They're good films.

I've taken my old school books down from the attic & I do lessons in them often.

I've enrolled with Kilroys college to do a correspondence course, though this is for repeating the leaving cert.

You're in Spain, so this isn't an option, but I'm going to do a weekend course in the gaeltacht.

& apart from all that, I listen to RNaG when I can, download & attempt to read the Lá Nua newspaper off the net, & try to watch some programs on TG4

Just so mad that I didn't make more of an effort when help was free!!!!!

Oh, & in case you're interested, here's a course offered online:
    http://www.gaeltalk.net/index1.html

I haven't done it, so don't know if it's worthwhile or not.

    Best of luck.

Ah practice makes perfect! I'd say a few spins to the gaeltacht will help alot. I'm hoping to myself once I've brushed up enough. Still a bit rusty.
