Over the past two weeks we have been extensively test driving RadioDeise and all went well despite a few glitches here and there. We are now set for the Official Launch on the 12th at 3pm.

Tune in today for the best in Alternative and Classic Rock from 3 to 6pm
Between 6 and 9 you have DJ Doyler with The Mix At 6
From 9pm to 10pm we will be highlighting some of the local, national and international bands that are relatively new to the music scene. So make sure you are tuned in for that to hear bands such as:

    Yaroo! Yaroo! - Dungarvan
    Santoria - Dublin
Lauren Guillery & The Claws - Dublin
    The Arrangements - Waterford
    Hipple Street - Wicklow

    and so much more besides.

The station broadcasts each day from 3pm to 3am
To tune in, simply go to http://www.radiodeise.com and click the Listen Live button on the right hand side.

Do tell your friends as well.
To send in requests during live broadcasts, simply e-mail live@radiodeise.com
    Send your MP3s to demos@radiodeise.com

    Cheers,
    Danno

Awful is spelt with one "l" :)

Just listening now, the signal is very badly compressed to my ears.

What ya mean "the signal is very badly compressed to my ears"?

If your saying the sound is bad, then I guess you have computer issues because we are streaming at 64kb/s in Stereo and thus far all listeners have reported that sound has been everything but bad.

Yeah there's a few typos on the site which will be sorted in time.

Using winamp I have to turn the volume slider down by 50% to be honest, its very loud and "pumps". Sounds like the signal is being put through a compresor which is'nt able to react fast enough to the volume input.

I've recorded a snippet as an mp3 and can send it as an e mail attactchment if you like.

    Mike.

Please do Mike. Send it to danethical@gmail.com
Trying to get everything right so it will help.

But being honest, nobody so far has had any issues with it, or at least haven't reported any. So, I appreciate you telling me this.

    Cheers,
    Danno

I have to agree with Mike, there is something not sounding right with the stream. I'm listening via iTunes and through Logitech Z5450's and it's not sounding healthy at all.

    I dunno guys.

I asked a few of our regular listeners and they say it sounds fine. I also opened the stream myself in Windows Media and in Real Player and it sounded fine. I will get a few friends I who are involved in Internet Radio to listen in later and see if they have issues with it.

    Cheers,
    Danno

    Ok guys,

I spoke with one of the developers of the software I am using (SAM Broadcaster) and he said that different players will have different audio settings that need to be adjusted by the listener. He also recommended RealPlayer or Windows Media. Some of our listeners have been using RealPlayer and said the sound was fine.
However, he did state that the sound wasn't great and gave me some suggestions of changes to make, which I did last night.
If you have time, could you tune in and see if that's any better or worse?
You can also listen in from the DeiseHost Toolbar which can be downloaded from http://deisehost.ourtoolbar.com

    Cheers for the help.

Its in mono! So its impossible to tell really. That said the "pumping" I noticed does seem to have gone.

    Mike.

    Yeah.
I was streaming at 64kb/s in Stereo and the guy told me to change from that to 64kb/s 4100MHz in Mono and also to change the following:

Deck 1 and Deck 2 load Preset of Pop/Rock1 and to Bypass all on the main Mixer.
Have people listening now that have emailed and said it sounded fine, just a little more bassy than it was yesterday.

    So, is it like better?

Aha! Look who I found! I'm getting the sound very clearly even on an old Compaq with built in 2" speaker. Hope everything is going to plan for yourselves and you're all set for the big launch! I've been listening in over the past few days when I have a chance and lovin the music! Kepp up the great work!

    Hiya Andrew!

Given your song a fair bit of playing. Nice song. Really like it.

Spread the word man. Would really appreciate it.

Due to the actions of a low-life who cowarded behind a fake email and fake name known as "a" from a@a.com, RadioDeise was forced to close indefinitely.
IMRO, Irish Music Rights Organisation informed us this morning that to run a radio station on the Internet, you need an IMRO License. The license, however, will only allow you to broadcast in Ireland, which is why I refuse to purchase such a rediculous thing as it is impossible to restrict an Internet radio station to Ireland. So, the license is unjust.
I have contacted IMRO's Licensing department via e-mail and questioned this. I have yet received no answer. My guess is that I will not receive one.
If not, I will contact my solicitor and see about my legal rights to broadcast an Internet based radio station. Afterall, the station is aimed at promoting unsigned bands and musicians. Isn't that what we should all be doing?

Regarding Mr A behind his fake e-mail, I know who you are and you read these forums every day too. But to me your just some low-life with a grudge.

That's a bloody disgrace, IMRO are supposed to be about musician's rights yet when someone has an idea like RadioDeise to help unsigned artists they get done over. If IMRO wanted to get pro-active for unsigned artists they should a) allow internet broadcast and b) sort out the bigger "airwave" stations that refuse to play anything by anyone not kissing IRMA's ass.

    Well said Andrew!

And it is bands just like yours that RadioDeise wants to get behind.
We really enjoyed playing your music along with the other bands we highlighted each night.
It aint over yet though. We are fighting this and RadioDeise WILL be back!

Bad luck, the whole internet radio business is being made far harder than should be the case (there an issue with mechanical copywrite looming too I think).

    Mike.

    Yeah it's totally rediculous.
But as said, it aint over. I never go down without a fight and I have had tougher fights in my days including legal battles.

    :)

I am sorry to hear that. Hope you´re back soon. If you are on again I have a few interviews I recorded with Gary Numan, Karl Bartos, Midge Ure, The Sparks, Paul Humphreys and Claudia Brücken which were played on three radio stations here in Dublin. You can get them anytime. Let me know if you want to have them.
