heya folks need advice on the way I played a big hand in the SE cash game madness last nite.

    Stack Sizes
    Me (SB) 500
    Player A (MP) ~1K
    Player B (UTG+1) 400

I have Ac5c in the SB
three limpers to Player A in MP who makes it 11.
    Button Calls 11
    Me calls 11
    Player B cals 11
    Pot 50.
    Flop comes Jh7c2c
    I make it 20.
    Player B calls
    Player A makes it 75
    Button Folds
I call pretty sure that Player B is also going to call. He will play top pair no kicker for big pots. and is also capable of taking a pot away from you on later streets
    Pot 275
    Turn 5d
I check and player B checks.
Player A bets 150. (range is now AA-JJ)
It suddenly hits me that Player B is also on a flush draw. Im 90% convinced of this and he will call if I call. So is a call ok in this spot if my read is right?

don't bet the flop, inflating the pot on a draw is bad imo

if your read is right, you are priced in to call !!!

Easy fold, but I would 3-bet flop if I had lead the flop/called preflop.

    Wow, very interesting situation.

If your judgment is correct, your immediate odds will be 575:150, a little over 3.5:1. This is sufficient if your reads are razer sharp, since your equity is around 25% according to poker stove. Plus you will stack Player B for 175 more, making your implied odds 750:150, or 5:1. But if you are wrong and player B:

    1) Folds: 425:150 = 2.8:1, insufficient odds unless you can get paid off on the end if you hit

    2) Jams and Player A calls: 925:325 = 2.8:1, same as above.

Overall, your reads have to be perfect for this to be a +EV situation, and if you are off, it's a -EV to neutral EV situation. I would tend to decline the variance and look for a better spot for my money.

After thinking about this some more ...

If you are locked into your read and there is a reasonable chance that Player A will fold an overpair to a jam and a call, going all in in this spot could be a rockstar play. It could be one of those rare and magical best hand folds/worst hand calls situations.

Would take a lot of heart though. :)

Player A in the hand was Bad Beat Joe. who went on a tirade of abuse against me for calling for 55 more on the flop.

He had JJ for a set of Jacks and if i had his hand against two opponents i would have potted it on that flop.

Player B is another SE regular whose name escapes me. He was on the Q-high flush
Very next hand BB Joe has 63 on a 33XXX board and gets upset he got no action.

and then the very next hand he gets it all in with the nut straight on the flop with an inside Straight Flush draw against a Set which hits a full house on the river.

He dropped from just over 1k to i think under 200 in the space of 3 hands.

The guy is just born unlucky.

Thanks for the heads up John, I know now to keep a wide berth of him today for fear of an ear bending.

Washout i too was sitting beside you when these hands occurred, i think you played the hand very well against bad beat Joe [other opponents name is also Joe] and as you pointed out you put Joe [2] on a flushdraw as well which made the call on the turn a lot easier...
i actually put you on a set and bad beat on the flushdraw, as i have seen him do the exact same move himself on numerous occasions, and when he start berating you after the hand he was quickly put back in his sordid little box...

As it happenes on the main table i seen him call a 200 bet on a 9 high flushdraw which he hit, LOL fe@king muppet IMO..

Anyway John nice win lastnight, and i wish you many more to come, SHIP IT ......
