    Hi,
Just had enough of Sky .
Have had Sky+ subscription for 12 months and just cancelled, because of the piss poor customer service and the fact that from day 1 the sky+ feature would not work. Afther hours upon hours on the phone to those idiots in Scotland I just gave up. I just said to myself that was an expensive lesson because I had to pay €200 for the box and was forced into paying for multiroom subscription for an extra €15 per month. The thing that really giles me is the fact that when I rang up to cancel the subscription, the guy on the other end did all he could to try and help, and " hey presto " he got the Sky+ to work ( recording & live pause). Not satisfied with this after endless hours on hold and calling back ( not one of the promises to call me back ever happened ) I decided enough was enough and terminated the contract with Sky+ features working for the last month.
My problem is that I recorded a lot of kids programs for my kid who is 3 years old and now that the subscription has ended I can not access the recorded programs.
Can anyone help me find out if these programs can be viewed? and can the Sky+ box be used to record terrestrial programs via set top box?
The fact that really really pisses me off is that I lived in the UK for 10 yeas and I had Sky for a large ammount of that time and NEVER had any issuse with Sky, I just think they dont give a damn about the Irish arm of thier business.
    Many thanks for your responses.

    M.

Sky+ can only be used for sky programmes via satellite

Sky+ and SkyHD only play back according to your current subscription. No subscription = no playback.

You are not "forced" to have a multiroom subscription. A second Sky box will work on the free channels. A Mirror sub is optional and cheaper than two separate subscriptions.

you haven't intimated that you intend to go to NTL/Chorus, but if you are, don't expect the Customer Service to be better there.

I'm sure their service isnt up to much either, but at least I would expect their equipment to work...

Disagree....I was with Chorus for a couple of years & had nothing but trouble with them so I switched to SKY ...all as bad as each other - surely if the equipment didn't work it hasn't taken a year to get it sorted - even sky isn't that bad !

As for forced into multiroom....why forced ??
