I was told this evening that you must register your name before 1pm tomorrow, otherwise they will sell your IO ticket to the next person on the alternates list.

If I hadn't bumped into John fom the SE I wouldn't have known about this. He left a voicemail but I never listen to them. Anyway, I went straight to the registration desk but it was too late. Nick from PPP confirmed my fears.... I must get up at 12pm tomorrow to secure my ticket.... even though I have paid for my ticket:eek: Is this ridiculous or what?

um, that's what I'm a bit confused about.

They had my name on the list and just ticked a box or something, I asked the guy twice was that it and he said yeah and waved his hands indicating that's all I had to do.

I didn't get anything off him. But maybe that's because I'm an internet qualifier, maybe?

    Hi Folks,

    Ed from PPP here.

If you've already paid up for your ticket, then there should be no problems.

However, you still need to show up at the burlington before 2pm today to make sure of this. There's going to be 708 players in this event, with another hundred or so wanting to play, so to avoid

Ok lads, I got the exact same "tick the box treatment". I presume we are good to go so. I will see you guys a few minutes before kick - off. Very best of luck.
    yeah ditto -

I am serious. Even though you have a ticket, you still must register with PPP. I won my ticket in a satellite in the SE so I don't know if this is the case with online qualifiers too.. but I know a lot of boardsies/davids whatever won theirs in B&M satellites like me.

If you have not reg'd in the burlington then I would ring PPP and see if you have to go down. They were very clear on this and everyone last night (including John from the SE and Nick from PPP) told me they will pass on my ticket to next on the list and issue a refund. Once they tick the box beside your name you are safe but your ticket is also non transferrable...

I'm heading down there now and will confirm all this again.

I was told by Paddy Power staff during the week (when I was getting the cash) that I had to call in before 14:00 on the day of the event and register.

I went in at 10:00 this morning. When I said I want to register, the woman looked at my Colossus casino receipt (just a bit of paper from a duplicate receipt book with no mention of the Colossus). I was told my name was already on the list. I was asked what country was I from. When I asked for my table and seat number, I was told that the draw would be about half an hour before the tournament starts.

I wandered around the playing area to get a feel for the place. As I was going out the door, I overheard a punter saying on his mobile phone there were 69 people on the waiting list for tickets.

I went to reception and asked about a special parking deal for poker players. The receptionist "validated" my car-park ticket, so I left the car in the car park and got the bus home (about 10 minutes).

At the bus-stop I looked at my new €1,200 Sinn 244 watch, that I just got back from Germany yesterday, after repairs to the automatic winding mechanism. It said 04:00. ffs. A €3,500 buy-in, and I'm relying on a €1,200 watch that does not tell the time.

Can we not print information that is not validated by PPP or the merrion please you have scared the knickers off half of boards! :D

WE WILL NOT SELL ANYONES TICKET.

YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE MERRION PRIVATE CASINO CLUB TO PLAY
this means that you have to tick a box and sign a piece of paper before the event not requeue at the payment desk.

sry, i was passing on information i was told by members of your staff. I'd bring it up with them. I genuinely was told all this...not some sort of joke! I went to the reg desk at 11.15pm after John warned me about the situation. The reg desk had closed at 10pm but two member of your staff confirmed I should get in by 1pm today to tick some box beside my name to make sure I get my ticket. I thought I would pass this information on to boards. Maybe my ticket from the SE is different or something?

Please explain what is going on. Read my post above. I do not understand your post. I went in this morning to sign in, and was told I was ok. Now you say I have to tick a box and sign a piece of paper. I did not tick anything or sign anything this morning. There are no signs saying PAYMENT DESK or REGISTRATION DESK.

    Please reply asap.

PPP-Pitboss could you please comment on this. This is what I am talking about. Is it ok to come in at 4pm or not? Or do people need to be in at 2pm.

Thats what I heard Niall, and thats what I tried to do. Perhaps I was in too early.
I have nothing with me to say I can play in this event. All I have is a torn-out receipt that I got in the Colossus for €3,500 cash, and the Colossus is not even mentioned on the receipt. I could write out a similar recipt by getting a €1 receipt book in the local stationery store.

That comment about being a member of the Merrion .....

When I paid in the Colossus Casino in Montague Street I had to fill out a Colossus membership form before I was let in to the cash desk to pay.
This morning in the Burlington Hotel, I again filled out a Colossus form at the first desk, but when I went to the desk that had staff at it (no one at the first desk), and presented the form, I was told to leave it at the first desk. No mention of the Merrion anywhere.

The Colossus and the Merrion are the same organisation. When the Merrion closed for renovations, the colossus took all their stuff. the IO run by the Merrion, but the Jackpot is the offical cardclub of the IO as its the only club under the Merrion now.
