I'm trying to design and build a web page- it's something I've never done before.

Can anyone recommend a very easy package to use?
I was thinking of i-web but since I don't know anything about design I'm open to suggestions.

you could try rapidweaver, its a bout the best at generating decent code from the bunch of those visual editors. Your kinda stuck to templates tho unless you know much about css

I used a good one, but I can't for the life of me remember it.

Try NVU. It's free and open source. You can download it here.

Unlike iWeb etc. you're not restricted to templates. It'll take a while to get the hang of it and it might be worth your while taking a look at a couple of free tutorials like the one here

You could also try Xara Webstyle 4. It's dead easy use and comes with pre-loaded templates that you can change very easily. Also does menus etc.
    It's not free though...
