    Hey,

just received my new laptop from work, Dell d820. This thing comes with :

    NVIDIA Quadro NVS 120M

Now That is basicially a 7400go. Not the most powerfull of notebook gpu's but it has its own dedicated 256mb of ram.

What i would like to know is there a way i can get the driver hacked to i get better performace in games ?

The Vista benchmark gives everything on this laptop 4.2 to 5.9 but the gpu gets 3.1.

    Any help is much appreciated.

The Quadro drivers are generally tuned towards pro apps not games so there would be some benefit in changing the ID.

Now it's been quite a while since I last looked in on this area so I'm not totally up to speed but Rivatuner was generally the way to go using NV Strap to over ride the ID but that was usually in the reverse going from geforce to quadro.

However it may be a lot simpler as the modded inf drivers on laptopvideo2go add support for the NVS 120M into generic GeForce drivers where the optimizations should hopefully be (not the Quadro builds).

So it could just be a case of installing the Vista 101.41 driver with modded inf to support it & get better performance.

It will still show as a Quadro but hopefully be better in games.

Even as a Quadro the performance hit isn't terrible in games. Maybe 10%. Although I suppose that can be a bit considering the 7400 isn't so powerful to begin with..
