anybody know of any software that will create climb profiles?
See here for what I'm thinking off.

I have a GPS do-hickey and I'm using SportTracks which creates an elevation profile, but not as snazzy or as informative as that in the link.

The attached pic shows what SportTracks gives.

Basically, I just want to experiment with creating a snazzy one. I've searched on the web, but not found anything, unless they just do it with Photoshop or somesuch.

The Google Pedometer does something similar, but it's probably a few notches short of what you're looking for in terms of accuracy and portability. Good for a play though.

The "Graphic Designer" attribution beneath the fancy looking graph image is a bit of a giveaway.

Apart from the named mountain tops in the fancy image, I don't find it any more informative than the SportTracks image.

What I personally would find helpful is being able to see a map beside such a graph, something like this: http://bombaydigital.com/articles/2006/09/20/1/garmin_screen_lg.png

Which is possible with the Garmin Edge software. I gather that the Edge data can also be mapped to Google Earth, but I haven't seen a screencap of that yet.

On the Paul Kavanagh site he has similar graphs, created by http://www.ciclosport.de, according to the page footer.

I have a Polar 625x watch and will get graphs like this one, though without the speed/cadence/power info.

I couldn't find any online stores selling the Ciclosport bike computers (tried bikedock, crc, cyclesuperstore, wiggle, evans).

the software with the Garmin (Training Center) is OK, however, I find SportTracks to be a bit more powerful. One handy feature is to show how a part of your climb relates to where you are on the map. Training Center does something similar, but this one is neater IMO.
