Bob Clark killed in Collision

Just after reading that Bob Clark was killed in a car crash earlier today. For those who don't recognise the name, he was behind the original Black Christmas, Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things and Porky's.

I'll admit that his recant out put has been atrocious, and includes the dismal Super Babies, yet it's still sad to hear of his passing. As he seemed to be on what many saw as a comeback with his remake of Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things.

All I'll say is RIP, to a legend of horror cinema.

Sad News. I imagine most would not have heard of him but Black Christmas was the earliest film I know of to really use the conventions of the "slasher film" as we know it today. Doesnt get the credit it deserves.

And Porkys has spawned a hundred inferior copycats. Classic film.

Clark also directed my second favourite Sherlock Holmes movie - Murder By Decree which starred Christopher Plummer, Donald Sutherland and James Mason He had a pretty decent early career in genre flicks then along came Porkys and it was all downhill after that.

    Mike.
