Deleted of my memeory key, can it be restored?

    I just deleted something really important from my memory key. Its not in the recylyce bin, is there any way I can restore it? It sreally important

    yeah I recommend Recuva also. Its free and seems to be pretty good.

    PC Inspector File Recovery/Smart Recovery in the above links are very good, as long as its a standard file type eg doc/avi/jpg etc

    I didnt know files from a usb drive where recoverable! always assumes that its gone as its flash based storage.

    will be dl some of the above mentioned apps just incase...

    Maybe idea to add them to the free/essential software thread?

    Thnaks lads Recuva worked a treat and saved me a lot of hassle. I also agree it should be added to the essentail software sticky.

    yes its damn good piece of software
    I recommend checking out CCleaner, its by the same guy who did Recuva. It's also excellent

    I knew about wear leveling but not that it just moved or marked deleted files.

    Another program ive used is Test Disk, it works althou by the look of screenshots not as easily as Recuva.

    EDIT: Could a mod (irlrobins?) add a file recovery section to the Essential Software thread allong with some of the programs mentioned above?
