To Copy A DVD As An Mp3 Question ?

Lo all. Just wondering if it can be done. I got a WWF dvd off a friend who wants me to copy only the sound from it so then he can play it in his car. So i guess i need to turn it into an mp3 ? If it can be done can u name a program that i can download to do this. A free program if you can. Thanks Steve
