Barcelona Airports

Planning the summer holiday and I'm looking at airlines and airports.

Aer Lingus fly to Barcelona but the price is far too high for a lowly student like myself.

Ryanair fly to Reus and Girona, for about €100 cheaper. The thing is I plan on staying in Cubelles (a while away from Barcelona city centre airport), and I'm wondering whether or not I'd get a taxi willing to drop me from Girona all the way out to Cubelles.

If anybody has any knowledge of this area of Spain or of Spanish taxi drivers please let me know!

I don't really understand you're question but I can tell you that you can hop on a bus staight from the flight that will take you to Barcelona city centre. Public transport in Barcelona is very good in general so perhaps you could then get another bus to Cubelles.

I have no doubt that a taxi driver will drop you all the way out from Girona but that doesn't really seem like an option for someone on a budget. (I think it's about a 2 hour bus ride from Girona to Barcelona). Then again, it seems you are flying from Hawaii so.....:)

    Hope that helps.

Have you even looked at a map? Cubelles is on the opposite side of Barcelona from Girona and is about 150km away. You're planning to fly to the wrong side of the city and then get a taxi to save €100 on the flight? I'd say he'd be delighted to drop you there.

Do yourself a favour and look up a map. Reus is much closer to Cubelles.

Another option is Clickair to Barcelona.

I am very familiar with that part of the country, lived there on and off 6 months last year and used the Reus to BCN train regularly. Trains are dirt cheap in Spain, Reus Airport is only a e3 minibus jurney to the train station. You than take a train to Tarragona and change for another one to Cubelles. Total cost would be less than e7 if you take the regional or Catalunia express.

Renfe is the equivilant of CIE in Spain, you could figure your journey on the links below. Dont bother with Gerona Airport, its at least an hours bus journey the far side of Barcelona, plus messing around with transferes etc. If you fly Click air to BCN you can also go direct from BCN Sants to Cubelles.

(Altaria, Arco, Talgo and Galacia are all luxury express trains and are at least three times the price)
